                                                  THE SEVEN TOED ROUTE

                                                                GEO GNEISS.jpg (56078 bytes)

The  'Seven toed Route'  is  a 45 km  drive  on the  Kenhardt /Upington road .  Driving  along an outstretched  Bushman grass (stipagrostis)  landscape, with some large  gneiss outcrops. Strange refuse dumping like outcrops await you after 30 km of driving.   These igneous outcrops will guide you to one of the most unique late bushmen settlement sites on our planet.

                                 sewe_toon_advertensie.jpg (118374 bytes)

( Seven toed feline foot  impressions)

On the 15 km farm road,  you'll  experience  a small game drive,  expecting to see Springbok,  Steenbok, Rock dassie, Ground Squirrel and renowned bird life such as huge sociable weaver nests, the scarce Red Lark

endemic  the Bushman land and Southern Africa's   largest  Raptor, the Mygestic Black Eagle, dorper sheep, plant species like the   beautiful quiver tree , (Aloe Dichotoma),  Stone Plants (lithops), bushman grass (Stipagrostis, plants that was eaten by the ancient   people like Doring  komkommertjie' (Cucumis africanus).   Approaching but for sure the most religious Exploring the site and observing more than 300 engravings, made near impressions .The following questions could cross your mind:

Could this disastrous event, which left water marks, human and animal foot impressions on igneous  bodies.  The Bible's Flood ?  (Gen 7:11)  "...on that day all the springs of the great deep  burst forth, and the  floodgates of the heavens were open "

To whom belonged  the different shaped human- and ape like  and  seven  toed  creatures ?

(And  the nine toed engravings ? ) May be we'll soon have an explanation)

Do the engravings connecting  a gigantic  footprints,  prove the origin   of the ancient legend?

Do the dinosaur foot impressions and engravings proof  their   co existence  with humans ?

Do the many trance figure engravings, connecting impressions, tell  a  religious story ?

Could  these ancient people be eye witnesses of space visitors?

Could these igneous bodies of gneiss and dolerite stand for the age and origin of human and animal kind? (re to as 180 million years - pre dinosaurs?) How came ?

With  Grinding patches, sharpening grooves, potsherd, ostrich egg shells and beads, a cave like system, which tells the story of an ancient life style, water holes on the highest peak, a  'watch out  platform' and   engravings of strong  charging animals which had to  chase  the evil spirits ,  the associate trance dance engravings,  you could for one day, identify with the ' first people of Africa !

Just,  may be, that night, back in Kenhardt, you'll peacefully go to sleep on the idea where you originated from.

"And God created man in his own image,

      in the image of God he created him;

male and female he created them."

At Newspaper Rock in southern Utah, there are many petroglyphs that depict six-toed human footprints.  http://www.rae.org/newsrock.jpg
